I Can’t Wait to go to Japan

I have two more weeks here at the MTC and I’m so excited to go to Japan! I’m having so much fun learning Japanese and making new friends for the past 8 weeks here in Provo! Here’s what happened this week:

Last Preparation Day, my district and I had the opportunity to go to the Provo Temple. We ate at the temple cafeteria and later went to do Temple Sealing for a family in Poland. After our temple visit, we went to the field across the MTC and played Spike ball and Kick Ball with the other missionaries there.

The next day, we had non-member TRC. We have this investigator that is very interested in the church especially in the Book of Mormon. On our last meeting with him, we invited him to read the front pages of the Book of Mormon (testimonies of the three witnesses and eight witnesses). During our last lesson with him, we asked if he read the testimonies of the three witnesses and eight witnesses and we found out that he was already at 1 Nephi 3! He is so amazing! He even asked a lot of good questions such as how did Nephi acquire his faith without even seeing God and why do we start our prayers with Heavenly Father and end in the name of Jesus Christ. I’m so excited to meet with him again next Friday!

Moving on! Something amazing happened last Sunday! It snowed the entire day! Just as I went outside like my typical sabbath day here at the MTC, I saw the world-famous Utah Snow! It’s very soft, fluffy, and light! Everything was covered in snow and it’s very beautiful! I also met President Dahle who was the former mission President for the Olongapo Mission who had also served in Japan. We talked about Japan and his experience while serving in the Philippines.

Moving forward to Monday! I had the opportunity to tour one of the top tourist attractions in America: Temple Square. The temple is very beautiful and you can feel the spirit and the faith of the early pioneers who built it. The temple took 40 years to build with manual labour and it took them 4 days to ship a single marble block that they carved out from a mountain. We also toured the Conference Center and the historic Salt Lake Tabernacle which is the house of the world-renowned Tabernacle Choir (formerly known as the Mormon Tabernacle Choir).

Overall, I’m having fun here in Utah! My MTC experience is amazing and very spiritual. I’ve learned a lot of things here and I don’t even know how I’m learning Japanese so fast! Last Tuesday devotional, I listened to the speaker entirely in Japanese and I’ve written a lot of spiritual promptings from it. I firmly testify that the Gift of Tongues is real and that the church is true. I testify that the Book of Mormon was translated by Joseph Smith by the power of God and that it is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know that God loves us and because He loves us He called prophets and apostles again. I can’t wait to be in Japan and share my testimony to them! See you all in 2 years! I will return with honour!
